Games That Make You Think of Halloween Day 10: Tiny Toon Adventures: Scary Dreams - GBA

Day 10: Tiny Toon Adventures: Scary Dreams - GBA

Tiny Toon Adventures: Scary Dreams for the GBA is a bit of a mystery. It was released in Europe in July of 2002 as Busters Bad Dream and was developed by the well loved Treasure CO. Treasure mainly gets its notoriety from SHMUPS like Ikaruga, Bangai-O, and Radiant Silvergun but they have made a ton of game: Wario World, Gunstar Heroes, Sin & Punishment, Dynamite Heady, and more.

The mystery that surrounds this game concerns its release in the US. It was shelved and was not suppose to come to the states, but one day on eBay copies called Scary Dreams and not Busters Bad Dream started popping up. No official explanation has yet surfaced, and it is unclear how many copies actually exist or were released. I found out about it randomly while trolling  forums, some one mentioned and then I started looking into it.  The game isn't bad at all really and I put an hour into it before putting it back in the box. I am curious to know why it was shelved, could be that the Tiny Toons name just didn't carry enough weight by 2002. As to how it applies to Halloween for me, it just feels like a Halloween game, the cover is steeped in purple and orange, it has bats, a spooky tree, and a haunted castle, it really doesn't get much more Halloween than that.

The price on this game is climbing.
